What this site is

A publication of measurements we made ourselves, and a description of four services. It is not advice about your specific application, and reading it does not create a working relationship between us.

What the numbers promise, and what they don’t

Every figure describes a named sample, measured on a stated date, by a method described in the article. It is not a prediction about your app. Each article carries a section saying what the measurement does not show, and that section is part of the finding rather than a disclaimer attached to it.

If you act on something you read here and it does not apply to your case, that is a limit of the method rather than a promise we broke — and we would genuinely like to hear about it, because it improves the next measurement.

What you may do with the site

• Read it, quote it, and republish whole articles under the republication terms.
• Run our scripts, fork them, and publish results that contradict ours. They are open source for exactly that reason.
• Do not present our measurements as your own work, and do not restate a finding as something we did not find.
• Do not scrape the site at a rate that affects it for other people. If you want the data, take it from the scripts — it is faster and it is the point.

The work itself is agreed separately

Nothing on this site is an offer with a fixed price. Scope, price and timing are agreed per job, in writing, after we have read your code. The services page describes what each job includes and — more usefully — what it does not.

Availability

This is a small operation. The site is served from a machine we run ourselves, and if it is ever down, it is down. No uptime is promised here.
